Meet Your Clinician

Chuck Crumpler, LISW-CP

Taking the first step towards entering therapy is a huge, very personal, and sometimes frightening step to take. Bravo for making it this far! I am a clinical Social Worker who went back to college after a “mid-life” crisis. I had years of therapy myself and felt ready to help others. I am glad I did, because Social Work, by far, has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I firmly believe life experiences shape who we are and how we manage each day in our lives.

I grew up in conservative Baptist and career military environment. Each of these environments brought their own challenges as a child and teen. I have experienced the traumas of physical, emotional and sexual abuse. I attended individual therapy, group therapy and several “healing from trauma” workshops over the years. I identify as a cisgender, gay man within the LGBTQ+ community. I have experienced many losses over the years; however I really did not understand grief until I lost my husband to cancer in 2022. Caring for him and watching him die changed me in so many ways, but most importantly, has made me a better therapist.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma informed care, as well as Motivational Interviewing, amongst other modalities, to gain a better understanding of the person, the life experiences, as well as systems, that have brought each individual to the place of wanting to try therapy. We work together to create a plan; however the plan is fluid in order to be able to address any feelings, thoughts or emotions that may surface. I try to create an environment in the office that is cheerful, comforting and playful. You will see lots of Lego!

If you need to vent, validate your thoughts and feelings, or have them challenged, therapy is for you. If you need to address certain life events, including but not limited to Grief, Trauma, Abuse of any kind, feeling out of place in the world, stress, addiction, depression, PTSD, anxiety, or multitudes of other circumstances, therapy is for you.

I know firsthand therapy works and I encourage you to give it a try.
